PRESS RELEASE January 30th 2019: French group Proman takes majority participation in Rialto Recruitment
“As Rialto Recruitment is the first executive search office in the Proman group, its expertise will be the basis to strengthen Proman in the field of executive search and headhunting”, says Patrick Van Lijsebetten, Managing Director of Rialto Recruitment.
Rialto Recruitment has a connecting role
Rialto Recruitment, established in 2001 under the name ‘Atlantae’ and specialised in engineers, scientists, PHD and technical profiles, enters a new and bright future. With 18 years of experience in executive search, recruitment and selection, and offices in the Science Park Niel and C-mine Genk in Flanders, CEO Patrick Van Lijsebetten wanted to expand to the Frenchspeaking market in Belgium. “That’s how I came into contact with Roland Gomez jr, 2nd generation and owner of Proman, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary as a family business in 2020,” says Patrick Van Lijsebetten. Rialto Recruitment, the name refers to the bridge in Venice, wants to fulfill a connecting role between client and candidates, and also bridge the gap between universities and companies.
Proman, a solid group
Proman is the abbreviation of ‘Les Professionnels de Manosque’. Manosque is a municipality close to Marseille in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. In France, Proman is the fourth largest player in the field of interim, contracts of indefinite and fixed duration. The group has 380 offices and operates in 9 countries. In Belgium, these are LEM Intérim with five offices in Wallonia, Proselect in Liège and Mont-St-Guibert, and now Rialto Recruitment. More than 45,000 people are employed via Proman every day. In 2019 the group will exceed a turnover of 2 billion euro. Proman has the ambition to open at least 15 offices per year through growth or acquisition. Proman was the main sponsor of the European Football Championship in 2016. FIFA France has designated Proman as the official national recruiter for the « FIFA Women’s World Cup, France 2019TM ».
Proman and Rialto Recruitment are on the same wavelength
“I am 60 now and my children are not immediately interested in taking over the company. As an entrepreneur, I am concerned about my employees and the continuity of the company. In autumn 2018 Proman showed interest in a participation in Rialto in order to become active in Flanders and I accepted the proposal. As co-shareholder, I remain Managing Director and will share my knowledge in executive search with Proman”, says Patrick Van Lijsebetten.
Rialto Recruitment will soon open a third office in Brussels
It is the express intention of Proman to further expand Rialto. In the meantime, the name ‘Rialto Executive Search’ has been registered for senior management and management profiles. In February, Rialto Recruitment opens a third office on the prestigious Avenue Louise in Brussels. Patrick Van Lijsebetten: “Many headquarters of companies are located in Brussels. We also want to specialise in higher-level administrative profiles in HR and finance. The further growth of Rialto Executive Search depends also on the expansion to other segments and sectors. This is absolutely necessary, because we cannot afford to pick away candidates from our customers. A fourth and perhaps fifth office in East and West Flanders are planned for the end of 2019 / beginning of 2020. ”
Raising SME’s to a higher level
Start-ups, scale-ups or even mature companies can only grow by surrounding themselves with external people who, due to their expertise, can bring the company to a higher level. Since the beginning of 2018, Rialto Recruitment has acquired expertise in the search for executive interim managers and members for advisory boards and boards of directors. Patrick Van Lijsebetten is a certified director by GUBERNA (Institute of Directors). He is one of the initiators within the GUBERNA Alumni council to develop a specific offer for managers in the SME market in the area of training, recruitment and selection, coaching and consultancy.
Rialto Recruitment is a member of IMSA Search Global Partners, the worldwide network of executive search agencies with 47 offices in 5 continents and 23 countries. Only one partner is allowed per country, with Rialto Recruitment having the exclusivity for Belgium.
